The Crimson Bears' state tournament hopes came down to the final game of the season, a tight 3-2 loss at the hands of the Sitka Wolves. With the defeat, the Bears found themselves in a two-way tie for the best record in Southeast with Sitka. The tiebreaker was decided by total runs allowed, where Sitka narrowly edged out the Bears, sending them to the state tournament as the Southeast Conference representative, where they went on to win the state title.

Zach Mixson was named Alaska Gatorade Player of the Year as a powerful hitting first base and dominant pitcher on the hill. In a four-game sweep of Prince of Whales, Mixson slugged five home runs and amassed 16 RBI, while also throwing a no-hitter in the weekend series.
